Bioschemas is an open community and welcomes any individual or organization willing to contribute to this community effort. A (incomplete) list of community members can be found on our people page. Please see our joining page for details of how to get involved.
We encourage everyone to embed markup within the web pages about their resource, following the relevant profile. Further guidance can be found in the getting started tutorial. If you do embed markup in your resource, please let us know so that we can add you to the live deployments page.
Profiles are developed through discussion and consensus in Working Groups, each with a dedicated focus area. Discussions take place through the mailing list, GitHub issues, and slack. Please reach out to the relevant working group leads if you want to help further enhance a particular profile.
The Bioschemas Community adheres to the 5 core principles of OpenStand (infographic). For more information on our governance approach, please see the community's Governance Document. All interactions with regard to Bioschemas, either online or in-person, are covered by our Code of Conduct.
The Bioschemas Steering Council is responsible for strategic and organisational planning, high-level oversight of community activities, including the approval and monitoring of profiles, types, and working groups, and promoting Bioschemas activities, as well as protecting its public image and reputation. The Pistoia Alliance is a global, not-for-profit alliance of life science companies, vendors, publishers and academic groups that work together to lower barriers to innovation in R&D, using pre-competitive collaboration to address issues around aggregating, accessing and sharing data that are essential to innovation, but provide little competitive advantage.
The Global Organization for Bioinformatics Learning, Education and Training (GOBLET) is a foundation whose mission is to provide a global, sustainable support and networking structure for bioinformatics trainers and trainees and facilitate capacity development in bioinformatics in all countries.
TeSS is ELIXIR's Training e-Support System, developed by ELIXIR-UK, for disseminating, discovering and packaging training resources, primarily by aggregating information from ELIXIR nodes, but also from various 3rd-party content providers.
FAIRSharing Information Resources are curated web-based searchable registries of linked information on content standards, databases, and data policies. Oringinally developed in the life sciences, broadly covering the biological, natural and biomedical sciences, it is now expanding across all disciplines.
The bioCADDIE (biomedical and healthCAre Data Discovery Index Ecosystem) team is involved in developing a data discovery index (DDI) prototype which will index data that are stored elsewhere and play an important role in promoting data integration.
BBMRI-ERIC develops and operates a pan-European distributed research infrastructure of biobanks and biomolecular resources in order to facilitate the access to resources as well as facilities and to support high quality biomolecular and medical research.
EMBL Australia Bioinformatics Resource (EMBL-ABR) is a distributed national research infrastructure providing bioinformatics support to life science researchers in Australia.
